Meet the Cats of Evermay Farm
Evermay Farm inherited a number of cats who lived on the farm and surrounding areas. The cats were trapped, spayed, neutered and released. Many were untouchable feral cats, others we were able to work with and did so on their terms. A cat house is available as well as barns and out buildings for their use.
Others have since joined the original group. Those that are willing live in our home with us, while others have chosen to stay outdoors.
Millie is the matriarch of the Evermay cats. She is mom cat to Egypt, Phoeb and Abby.
Millie is untouchable. She stays close to the main house taking refuge in the cat house. Millie demands respect from all the other cats.
Remus came to Evermay on his own, with a broken leg at about three years old. He was neutered, had his leg set in a cast and received his vaccines. Scared and shy at first Remus has proved his devotion by playing surrogate mom to the younger cats, watching over them and teaching them. Remus over sees all activity here on the farm.
Phoeb arrived with littermates Abby and Egypt.
Indoor life for this beautiful boy. He was the easiest of the litter to taken in and tame. He loves being on his back and help upside down. Passive disposition.
Abby is an indoor girl. She has her one human friend she has bonded with. She isn't of fond being held. She hates being cold and will hide in blankets.
Egypt is mom cat to Monkie, Hunter and Lil Grey .She was a very feral and small mom cat. Trap smart she took longer than hoped for to be spayed and had a litter before being trapped. Egypt is untouchable, loves to hunt and has bonded with Remus.
Little Grey's litter mates are Hunter and Monkie. Grey is shy and timid but likes attention and can be held.
Grey is a talker and will chatter as if in conversation. Little Grey will not come inside, but the door is always open to him should he decide to change his mind.
Hunter, Lil Grey's and Monkie's litter mate earned his name do to his amazing hunting skills here on the farm. 100% outdoor, this semi feral boy helps keep our barns free from rodents.
Monkie was found separated from the others kittens with a hurt leg and a concussion. He now is a spoiled indoor boy. Monkey a has skin issues that calls for a special diet.
Bruttus is affectionately called our "Wild Child" after he had to be taken indoors due to his controlling issues with the out door group. He is more like dog, coming when whistled for. He loves to be with people and in the middle of whatever is going on.
Peaches is a beautiful long haired male. He is still learning to get along with the other resident cats, but progress has been made. Human friendly and loves cuddling.
